About the Photographer

I've always had pets around. Growing up in Michigan, we had cats and dogs as far back as I can remember, and I love the spirit they bring to a home. My dad was fond of Boxers, which had so much energy and presence that I loved playing with them, inside and out. So I know firsthand how our cats and dogs become an essential part of the family, and I like to treat them that way in my portraits.

I wish every dog and cat had a family of their own, and I'm so glad to be able to support Amy and Little Black Dog Rescue again with their efforts to do that. We bring a pop-up studio and set up a nice space with Earth Animal's support to create a fun pet portrait experience for this great cause. It's a lot of fun and we get some terrific shots of the pets you love.

Little Black Dog Rescue

LBD Rescue focuses on the rescue, care and placement of black dogs who are in danger of euthanasia due to their color, as well as other dogs who are in immediate need. LBD Rescue is funded by donations which are used solely for the care of our dogs.

According to pet shelter workers, ebony-colored cats and dogs suffer from the “Black Dog Syndrome”: they are often the last to be adopted and the first to be euthanized.

Amy Scarella, founder of LBD Rescue, has a passion for helping dogs who are thrown away. Amy has been rescuing with various local groups in Connecticut as well as Georgia, North Carolina and Puerto Rico. As a former school teacher and now self-employed, Amy relies on the generosity of animal-lovers to make rescuing, rehabilitating and placing each deserving soul in the best home imaginable. Little Black Dog Rescue is based in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

The LBD Mini-Session

The pet Mini-Sessions are a lot of fun! Each session is 15 minutes, which allows plenty of time for your dog(s) to explore our pop-up studio, settle down, get used to the lights, and show off his/her star quality for the camera. You can see from the examples that we get lots of great shots to choose from and create a Valentine's treat for your family as well as one for a homeless pet. All proceeds from session fees go to Little Black Dog Rescue.

A few days after the session, you will get an online gallery of my selects for you to choose your included 5 image files as well as any additional images or products you may want.

Participants will also get a $100 gift card toward a future family portrait session with Pamela Einarsen Photography.

Included in the $100 session fee are 5 digital image files, a sharable mobile album of 8 to 10 images for your smartphone, and an online gallery to share and order print and digital products.
